YT014 - Withings Wifi Body Scale

If you really want to, your can follow me on Twitter at Dons_scale - just a bit of fun!
As I was about to tell you before I was rudely interupted by the doorbell (!), I'm experimenting with affiliate links from Amazon. If you decide to take the plunge and order via these links, ScreenCastsOnline will get a small commission. So here you go:

Hi Don, what a great incentive. I am now following your scales twitter account.
@Mickyfin on Twitter
Thanks Mickey. Now I expect praise when I'm doing well and chastisement if I fall off the wagon ;-)
You are an incurable high-tec junkie and I love it!
I heard about this on MacBreak Weekly when Leo got one. Mine arrived on Monday! My scale tweets on my personal account: twitter.com/chrispar
I think this is a great incentive to lose weight!
Don,
Hmm... interesting.. you are a brave man.
Question... can the scale work for more than one person/account? What happens if my wife steps on it... they scale will think I lost 200pounds in one night... hehe???

Now I have seen everything.... I realise that if you own an iPhone 'there's an App for that', and having found one that tells me the flute fingerings for any note in 3 octave scales I believe that. But you Don, have a 'Gadget for that'. Simply Amazing, but at 1/2 the cost of a Wii with Wii Fit I will stick to that and have managed to lose 7lbs in 21 days so fairly pleased with that.
I can't wait to see what you buy next LOL. It's better than the Gadget show ;-)
John - Forgot to mention that there is a free iPhone app!
Bob - Yes, it's very clever is that it associates the person stepping on the scale with their most recent weigh in. It assumes that the family members are all of different weights and weigh in relatively frequently so the changes are subtle - hence it can keep track. If two people are the same or close, it prompts you to choose who you are by shifting your weight to the left or right to make a selection from the display.
Very clever!
Hi Don, found your site while researching the wifiscale.
Curious: 1 year down the line: are you still using it? Did it make a difference? Thoughts? The device represents a radically promising and new category, and it's interesting to know if the connectivity works longer term (and is not just of "news" value).

Does it make a difference? Yes, when I use it!
I've used it off and on for the past year and it really does motivate you to keep on the straight and narrow. The only issue is starting to use if after a gap - say when you're away for a couple of weeks. You've probably let yourself slip a bit, and it's a bit daunting to get back on it!
Technically, works a treat.
