The Next Five Years Worth of ScreenCasts?

iUseThis is a new site which can be best described as an union between digg and MacUpdate. The front page of the site displays a listing of the most recent updates for OS X software. Registered users can click on the applications they use to, in a sense "voting" for them. The more people using an application, the higher up on the page it is. This lets visitors easily see the most popular software releases at a glance.

Looks pretty cool and could be a valuable resource. The tags implementation is really useful but I'm suprised to see Quicksilver with 434 users and Launchbar with only 35 - Ah well, 36 now!

Note: - The site is getting a lot of traffic so may need a restart or two - Hope they can cope with the demand!

iWork '07 - Bring it on!

Apple's Pages software is set to receive a number of significant improvements when version 3 rolls out early next year as part of iWork '07, sources have told Think Secret. Among the most notable will be the introduction of two new modes, Word Processing and Layout, that will each be optimized for their respective tasks as opposed to Pages' current handling of both types of documents with one common set of templates and tools.

Think Secret - Pages 3 to sport improved word processing features

I absolutely love Pages 2 and marvel at the power and simplicity of its use. To be honest, I'd rather have a spreadsheet replacement than enhanced pages but even this may come true....
EXCLUSIVE For its second birthday, Apple's iWork productivity suite will see the addition of a third application, Think Secret has learned. Currently dubbed Charts, the software is planned for iWork '07, which will likely be released in January, in keeping with Apple's previous iWork announcements.

My “stroke of insight” came suddenly yesterday morning: something fishy is going on with a campaign to promote Dr. Jill Bolte Taylor’s book, “My Stroke of Insight: A Brain Scientist’s Personal Journey” published by Viking Adult, part of the Penguin Group.

Michael Geoghegan has noticed some unusually activity on his blog comments which looks like some PR firm is trying to promote a book using underhand techniques. It's fairly obvious to spot that they are not genuine comments and the general effect is to actually discredit what appears to be quite a decent book by a respected author. Bad Show
