YTC015 - Studio Audio Gear

I've decided to only upload in 720p to YouTube. 1080p seems a bit excessive for a talking head video? Also, the smaller file sizes are much easier to handle and upload, as well as taking less time for YouTube to process in HD. Don't think anyone will be too upset! This is the first one at 720p.

720p is a lot better for me actually. I found the 1020p took a long time to download & was then too much to handle for my netbook.

Keep up the good work Don. Cheers.

And the name of the band was ?

Just to say the 720p is noticeably different when actually watching the YouTube clip on a 1080p 40" TV, but still quite watchable.

Don,

You have a lot of hardware to do various tasks - noise gate etc, have you ever considered Logic Studio or Express. It does all these things in software and is a really powerful editor for sound. I use it to record my rather amateur flute playing and have been amazed at the results. Logic Express is more than sophisticated enough for my needs, if your not creating music then you don't need the extra 38GB of sample data.

Well worth a look, could reduce the clutter a bit.

Based on this video I wouldn't be too worried about the quality of the clip on microphone. I'm sure it could be better, but I think it sounds fine as is.

Thanks for the positive comments on the audio. Perhaps it's not as bad as I feared!

No No No the Audio is just terrible Don. I think you should immediately go out an buy lots of new yummy gear and then tell us all about it!

At last, the voice of reason! Thanks Mark. I may just wait until after Macworld and next weeks release though ;-)

Don, how are you connecting the DBX 266XL to the Mackie Onyx 1220 mixer? I just picked up the Mackie Onyx 1220 and I'm trying to figure out the cable connections between it and my DB 266XL. I think it may be different from my old Behringer mixer.

Hi Bob, I'm using the channel inserts in the mike input. This "inserts" the DBX directly into the Mike signal but does not affect the reset of the mixer channels.
