Safari 4 Tabs - My Theory!

You've probably already had chance to play with the new beta version of Safari released today - Safari 4 beta.
As well as the new Top Sites panel, Apple have made a significant change on the positioning of the window TABs and moved them to the very top of the Safari Window pane.
There are already hacks out to move the tab bar back to its original position, but you might want to hold fire before doing that. I sort of scratched my head when wondering why Apple have moved the tab bar and as usual, I think they've moved it to increase usability and functionality.
Look, two Safari windows:

OK, now click on Window and hold the Option key down and select "Arrange in Front"

Look what happens....

The windows align themselves neatly yet all the tabs remain visible on both Safari windows:

Very neat and very Apple!

Hadn't noticed this, well spotted Don and as you say a very neat feature
cool... you found it!
Looked lovely in your pictures but doesn't work for me. Open Safari windows line up slightly horizontally offset but tabs of top window cover up lower window tabs. Looked for a setting that might be responsible but couldn't find anything.
Sorry ... windows were sized too big to arrange themselves as yours did.
Cheers Don. That has helped me be less upset that no matter what I do a New Window seems to pop up with clicking rather than a New Tab..... grrrrr!!
Ah! I wondered why that was - looks like this only works on windows that are not full window length.
You know you can do a CMD click to open up in a new Tab?
Clearly Apple likes Google Chrome enough to copy their tab structure.
This is a great feature that made me love the repositioned tabs. I really didn't like them at first.
However, it is a feature that does not seem to be working for me now. Right now I only have two windows open with a total of 47 tabs. (Sorry but it's the way I work sometimes!)
Could the sheer number of tabs be the problem?
47 tabs!!! Quite probably Chris :-)
